Undergraduate Courses
At U.G. Level
U.G. Classes in various subjects were started in 1964. In this sequence in1973 B.Ed. classes were started and Home Science was added to B.A. curriculum in 1984. Faculty of Science was also started in the session 2005-2006. The institution is very much near success in bringing Commerce Faculty for the students.
Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)
National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 has brought significant changes to the subject selection structure in undergraduate programs.
B. A. First Semester (First Year)
Under this new system, students are required to choose the following subjects:
- Major Subjects (Core Subjects):
Students must select two major subjects, which will form their primary area of study.
Major subjects: Hindi Literature, English Literature, Sanskrit, Economics, Education, Sociology, Political Science, Home Science, Music Vocal, Music Instrumental (Tabla)
2. Minor Subject:
One minor subject must be chosen, allowing students to gain knowledge outside their core subjects.
Minor subjects: Hindi Language or General English
3. Vocational Subject:
One vocational subject is mandatory to provide skill-based education, enhancing employability.
Vocational subject: Physical Fitness and Gym Trainer (PFGT)
4. Co-Curricular Subject:
One co-curricular subject must be selected, which focuses on holistic development.
Co-Curricular Subject: Food Nutrition and Hygiene (FNH)
In total, students need to select five subjects under this system.
This structure encourages multidisciplinary learning and helps students acquire a broad skill set. For the academic session 2024-25, there were a total of 792 approved seats in the B.A. program, out of which 518 seats have been admitted by students.
Caution
- Practical is compulsory in Home Science, Music and Education. For this it is necessary to pay requisite fee. A student may opt for a maximum of two subjects involving practical.
- Only two subjects may be opted out of Hindi Literature, Sanskrit and English Literature.
- Change of subjects after the admission, will not be allowed. Neither any fee deposited will be returned.
B. A. Third Semester (Second Year)
The students will be required to study three major subjects, 1 minor, 1 vocational and 1 co-curricular subject.
B. A. Fifth Semester (Third Year)
The students will not be required to study Minor subject (Hindi Language/General English). They will be required to study two out of three major subjects they opted in BA First and Second Years. 1 co-curricular subject, and 1 project in one major subject.
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)
B. Sc. First Semester (First Year) students may opt 2 Major subjects either of the following two groups:
- Zoology, Botany and Chemistry
- Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry
One Minor, one Vocational & one co-curricular subject. They will be required to study the same subjects in B. Sc. Second Year. In Third Year they will be required to study the same 2 Major subjects as in B. Sc. First Year, 1 co-curricular subject, and 1 Research project in one major subject. For the academic session 2024-25, there were a total of 88 approved seats in ZBC program, out of which 86 seats have been admitted by students. In PCM there were also a total of 88 approved seats, out of which 08 seats have been admitted by students.
Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)
There are a total of 55 approved seats in B.Ed., out of which students have taken admission on 38 seats.
This is a two-year programme. Apart from theoretical studies, the trainees are required to opt two of the following subjects for teaching practice Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Civics, History, Economics, Geography, Home Science, Biology, General Science and Mathematics. Arrangements for teaching practice are made at the local schools. This is a compulsory part of the programme.
Extra Curricular Activities
Five Extra Curricular activities are part of the B.Ed. syllabus. They are to be essentially done by the trainees.
